Parts of Groningen  were hit by an earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale on Monday night. The epicenter of the tremor was in the town of Woudbloem, around 11 kilometers east of Groningen city. 'It was a solid tremor,' said KNMI seismologist Läslo Evers 'These kind of solid tremors are getting to be more normal. There was one recently of 2.9 and one of 3 in the north of the territory not long ago.' Local supporter RTV Noord said individuals were woken by a boisterous blast and shaking at around 03.45 hours and that it had gotten numerous reports from Hoogezand and the city of Groningen.
